I’ve recently passed the CISSP exam. Passing the exam is just one step in becoming a Certified Information System Security Professional, once you’ve passed the exam there are additional steps required to achieve the certification.
There is a lot of chatter about exactly how long the process takes to get registered after the exam, so i’ll summarise my experience below!
Timeline Overview
Overall the process of registration to full registration took from Thursday 13th October 2022 to Thursday 10th November 2022, so all in all, assuming you respond quickly to create your application, your endorser acts quickly you’re talking about 4-5 weeks in total. ISC2 took nearly 3 weeks to review my application after my endorser completed their response.
Timeline Details
I took the CISSP exam on Thursday 13th October 2022 (PM), I passed, you are given a sheet at the test centre with your result, this is only a provisional result.
The next day Friday 14th October 2022 I got an email from ISC2 saying they had received my result (sent from the PearsonVue test centre), for me it was about 24 hours, this can vary by a few days for some people.
The email invites you to start the registration process, which starts with the endorsement process, I started this on Saturday 15th October 2022, completing the application and then entering my endorses information, they received the email on Monday 17th October 2022, it was my understanding they finished it on Tuesday 18th October 2022 and submitted.
On the Monday 24th October 2022 I got an email from ISC2 saying my endorsement documentation had been received and that my application was being reviewed, and that I should expect to hear something in 4-6 weeks.
Then finally on Wednesday 9th November 2022 I got the response from ISC2 saying my application was successful and requesting to pay the AMF fee to complete my application. I paid the fee on Thursday 10th November 2022 and about 15 minutes later the email came through saying it I was then registered.
A formal certificate pack is being posted out, but at the time of writing this (Thursday 10th November 2022), that advises around 8-12 weeks for arrival.
Hard copy certificate arrived Wednesday 21st December 2022.
