PROBLEM
Attempt to install Tracing for IIS failed with error code 0x80070643.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
There are a few causes to this problem, in my case I had Shared Configuration setup, if you try to install tracing with shared configuration setup it will fail. This isn’t the only cause so this solution may not work for you.
SOLUTION
Disable Shared Configuration, when doing so say to keep the encryption keys from the shared configuration. Perform the install of “Tracing” then reenable the shared configuration again.
