{"id":318,"date":"2015-06-23T14:39:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T14:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.geekmungus.co.uk\/?p=318"},"modified":"2022-11-05T10:53:19","modified_gmt":"2022-11-05T10:53:19","slug":"sharepoint-2013-hide-horizontal-scrollbar-on-front-page","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geekmungus.co.uk\/?p=318","title":{"rendered":"SharePoint 2013 &#8211; Hide Horizontal Scrollbar on Front Page"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On our Microsoft SharePoint 2013 home page, we had a horizontal scrollbar appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What seemed to be happening was within the master CSS file was that the &#8220;s4-workspace&#8221; was of the &#8220;ms-core-overlay&#8221; that affects the whole size of the page was using this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>#s4-workspace {\n width: auto !important;\n height: auto !important;\n overflow: auto !important;\n}<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see the &#8220;overflow&#8221; was set to auto, this sets the scroll bars for the X and Y axis to auto. I want the X axis to be hidden, the page shouldn&#8217;t hang over but it does a bit on a 1024 x 768 screen, so to resolve this I added the following code to our main.css file that is used for any adjustments to the base CSS for the whole theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>.ms-core-overlay {\n overflow-y: auto !important;\n overflow-x: hidden !important;\n}<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>As the main.css is evaluated after the base CSS, this overrides what is set in the base CSS.
